Please join us for an in-depth conversation with Dr. Fatima Akilu (joining from Nigeria) and Suzan Aref (joining from Iraq)—founders of innovative organizations who are working to build peace in complex conflicts! We will discuss the particular issues that women face during conflict and recovery, including the impact of violent extremist organizations. We will look beyond common perceptions of women as victims of war—and focus on women’s critical leadership role and how to better support women’s leadership in peacebuilding efforts.

Valley Grows Day is a collective effort among small, community-based non-profits throughout Western Massachusetts that are creating just and sustainable food systems for our communities. Tuesday, May 17th marks Valley Grows 2022, a day of giving and unity.

“A farmer’s market in Chicopee Center will return for its second year in early June, again bringing fresh produce, hard cider, lunch, music and crafts to the site of the former public library building.
