The WGBY Asparagus Festival celebrates all things local and agricultural. It’s an outdoor, family-friendly event with live music, a large farmers/makers’ market, fresh food and drink from around the Pioneer Valley, and PBS Kids games and live characters, including Curious George and The Cat in the Hat (from the Springfield Museums).

The survey is using a broad and inclusive definition of artists working in all disciplines. It encompasses: visual artists, musicians, composers, writers, poets, playwrights, new media artists, film makers, crafts people, actors, singers, performance artists, graphic designers, lighting designers, dancers, choreographers, and the like. The 2017 survey was also expanded to include makers and creative entrepreneurs.
