The Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden at the Springfield Museums is filled with Dr. Seuss’ famous characters.

A new “Amazing World of Dr. Seuss” museum will open June 2017 next to the sculpture garden. The space will have a 3,200-square-foot exhibition, as well as a re-creation of Geisel’s studio, an exhibition about the making of the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden and other related displays.

The museum will also be filled with personal memorabilia belonging to Theodor Geisel, commonly known as Dr. Seuss. Items such as original oil paintings, a collection of zany hats and bow ties, and furniture from the author’s sitting room and studio.
